Celebrating Success: Highlights from the 3rd Annual Morning Without Child Care

In a resounding display of solidarity and determination, thousands of advocates, parents, caregivers, educators, and allies came together on April 10th for the 3rd annual Morning Without Child Care. Across the state, in 10 different rallies, voices united under one message: "Fix Child Care."

The scene was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Amidst a sea of sunshine yellow, children played and laughed, their presence a poignant reminder of the importance of the cause. From bustling city centers to quaint town squares, the energy was palpable as participants gathered to make their voices heard.

What truly made this year's event stand out was the sheer magnitude of support it garnered. Families, educators, and community members alike turned out in droves, each one a testament to the urgency of addressing the challenges facing child care today.

At the heart of the event was a shared commitment to creating a brighter future for our children. From access to affordable and quality child care to better pay for educators, the rallying cry for change echoed through the streets, people honking their horns in solidarity.

But beyond the numbers and the speeches, it was the sense of unity and camaraderie that left the most lasting impression. In a world often marked by division, Morning Without Child Care served as a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from standing together for a common cause.

As we reflect on the success of this year's event, our coalition will carry forward the momentum and passion that fueled our gathering. We will continue to advocate, to fight, and to push for the changes we know are necessary.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizations and rally captains whose dedication and hard work made this event possible. Your tireless efforts have not only brought us together but have also propelled us forward on the path toward meaningful change.

Now, as we bask in the glow of our collective achievement, the next step awaits: convincing lawmakers to prioritize funding for child care. Plan to take your energy from MWCC and bring it to Early Childhood Advocacy Day at the Capitol on April 16th.

The 3rd annual Morning Without Child Care may have come to a close, but the work is far from over. Together, let us keep pushing forward until every child has access to the care and support they need to thrive.
